IEMS Ltd. and itunePower Inc. are proud to announce their collaboration to successfully conduct Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) implementation of their combined AI-based energy and power management solutions via multiple normal and contingency grid emulation scenarios including Predictive Analytics, DERMS/OPF, OpenADR based fast and cyber-secure communication of command/control signals, AI-based real-time control of DER assets to stabilize the nodal voltages and optimally dispatch the 2.7 MWh BESS, 1.5 MVA CHP, 590 kW solar PV within the Energy+ Inc. pilot feeder in Cambridge, Ontario as part of our Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) Grid Innovation project.

This was only possible through hard works and dedications from professionally skilled team members at IEMS and itunePower, and kind cooperation from Energy+ Inc. and Center for Advance Power Electronics (CAPE), University of Toronto.

We are so excited and look forward to implementing our total hardware and software solutions for secure and efficient integration and optimal operation of different types of DER and DR assets within MV/LV grids for Energy+ Inc., IESO and grid connected Microgrids and net-zero communities across Ontario and whole Canada in 2022 and beyond.

Especial thanks and kudos go to my colleagues, Dr. Masoud Bashari, Dr. Arman Ghasaei, Mr. Javad Zare, Mr. Umar Waqas, Mr. Gurdeep Bansal (senior power engineer at Energy+ Inc), Professor Reza Iravani (founder and director of CAPE, UofT) and folks at IESO Grid Innovation team.
